Support Groups

Recently I have had people ask me “should I try a support group”?  My answer is immediately a yes as long as you feel that the help can be encouraging on you.  Unfortunately, each support group is different and therefore the outcome can be different.  Many people find relief in support groups which directly stems from their low self esteem.  In retrospect, its a good idea to find one and sit in on one.  If it feels like something you can use then continue to go.  If you feel it is not for you, then leave.  Its most important to understand why support groups are created in the first place.  At the end, you are willing to take on a shared burden in order to uplift each individual in the ground.  Its using multiple help sources for a single entity.  It doesn’t work, however, when it starts becoming negative.  Keep that in mind when you are sitting in on one.
