A new report of an occupying force
A new report that was lead by a 20 panel personnel which has retired military officials and MP gave a criticizing view of the war and stated that we should be looking to leave immediately because we give the impression of a occupying force. that is definitely harsh words for war and doesn’t necessarily help anyone who is looking to continue our troop level in Iraq. The panel stated that the Iraqi forces need to step up so that the Americans can step down (sound like a president we know?). The profile also gave a harsh look at the Iraq Study Group in order to provide their assessment. According to the panel Iraq is also not in a position to take care of security. They stated it should be transferred over to them in 12 to 18 months. It would be nice if they were secure but it seems as though that the Iraqi leadership has not taken its own account of its own security. I feel like we are in a loop with Democrats looking to put pressure on the Iraqi government and the Republicans looking to wait for assessment from our military leaders. I think they are both right and instead of making a plea for something that isn’t necessary against the other, why cant we have pressure put on the Iraqi government while we are waiting for military assessment!!!
